Our first Recital Blog features COSTUME WEEK!
Costume Week at PDC: January 9 – 14, 2017
Starting next Monday, we kick off the second half of the season with Costume Week! Costume week is very exciting (and important), as recital costumes are revealed and ordered for all Recreational classes. Costume week does not pertain to Gymnastics, Technique, Performance Team or Competitive classes, these classes will resume as usual.
In replace of regular recreational classes, we will be holding Costume Week Jan 9 – 14. PDC Staff will be guiding parents through recital information and measuring dancers for their costumes. This is a great opportunity to ask questions about the upcoming recital in person! In order to create a smooth experience for all, classes are not held for the short amount of class time remaining (if any).
Each student will be measured during Costume Week. Student’s measurements will be used to choose the best size based on the costume company’s size chart. If a dancer is between sizes, they will have the opportunity to try on sample sizes. If you are not able to attend, you will need to measure your dancer at home and fill out the following form out before Jan 14, 2017 – click here.
Attend Costume Week with your dancer! A parent/guardian must be present to approve all costume sizes/orders. If a parent/guardian is not present, and you did not fill out the form above, we will assume your dancer will not be participating in the recital and we will not purchase them a costume. Costumes are not guaranteed if ordered after January 15, 2017.
We have combined our costume, accessories, tights and recital fee into one easy payment of $85 each costume. Dancers are required to purchase one recital costume per class and have the appropriate color and style of shoes. This fee is added to your account and due by January 15. Costumes will not be ordered if your account is not up-to-date. Any costume ordered after Costume Week (Jan 15) is not guaranteed to arrive before recital and will incur an additional shipping fee.
Due to the costume companies strict return policies, costumes are non-refundable and costumes cannot be returned or exchanged for different sizes. Placing a costume order after January 15 does not guarantee a ship date before Picture Week or Recital. Therefore, we always recommend sizing up and making small alterations to your costume to achieve the best possible fit for your dancer.
We order from a few costume companies and the ship-date varies from costume to costume. Once costumes arrive at PDC and we have them processed, your class will be notified via email and we will send them home with your dancer. Costumes arrive anytime between March – April 17 (picture day).
See you next week in class for COSTUME WEEK!
