Talya, born in Los Angeles California, has been dancing now for over 15 years. Talya danced competitively, as well as trained in Los Angeles and New York. She went on to study dance and choreography at Columbia College Chicago. She has taught at several studios in the Los Angeles area including master classes. Talya is the Artistic Director for the Competitive Program at Platinum Dance Center.

Born in Israel, Tafat began her ballet training at age 5 at Lifschitz’ Russian School. At age 10, her family moved to the U.S, where she trained with Minnesota Dance Theater. Adding Modern Dance, improvisation, and partnering to her repertoire, Tafat performed many classic works, original choreography by Loyce and Lise Houlton, and multiple roles in the Nutcracker Suite. Tafat also trained at Ballet Arts Minnesota and Zenon Dance. At age 14, she auditioned for her “dream company” Alvin Ailey’s summer program, and got accepted despite their minimum age of 15. During college at UW-Madison, although she majored in Psychology, Tafat danced alongside dance majors, and was asked to perform in their thesis performances, as well as works by choreographer and Professor Jin-Wen Yu. After college, Tafat returned to Israel and was a company member with Inbal Dance Theater, as well as danced in opera productions at The Israeli Opera. During that time she taught ballet technique to 14-18 year olds. Upon returning to the U.S, Tafat taught ballet for dancers ages 8-18. She is excited to be the Ballet Director at PDC and share her passion for ballet with our dancers!

Megan comes to us with 8+ years of dance team coaching experience, as well as many years of dance training herself. She was a competitive dancer on her high school and college dance team. You may also see her in the office, as she is an experienced studio office manager. Megan is the Performance Team Director at Platinum Dance Center. She is excited to bring not only her coaching expertise, but her detail-oriented and organized personality to the program. She is looking forward to sharing her passion for dance with PDC!

Alexandra Bodnarchuk is a Minneapolis based dance artist who hails from Pittsburgh, PA. She holds a BFA in Dance Performance and Choreography from Ohio University, and is also a graduate of Bodiography Contemporary Ballet’s College Preparatory Program. Alexandra has studied a wide range of dance from ballet to Eastern European folk and Ghanaian dance to movement theater. Her work has been presented in venues throughout Minneapolis, Pittsburgh and New York City and has been supported by several organizations including the Kelly Strayhorn Theater, Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh, Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council, and Mary Lipple Memorial Fund. She is excited to help develop the dancers at PDC into fearless and beautiful artists.

Solana began her classical ballet training at the age of 9 in Tucson, AZ. During her years of training she danced with Boston Ballet, Ballet Austin, State Street Ballet, Ballet Arts, and The Merce Cunningham Trust. She went on to graduate with a B.F.A. from The Juilliard School where she was awarded The Martha Hill Prize for outstanding achievement and leadership in dance. Since graduation she has been dancing professionally here in Minneapolis with the Minnesota Dance Theatre.

Jordan Lefton, a native of West Palm Beach, Florida, graduated from The Juilliard School in May of 2015. While growing up, Jordan danced at Thomas Dance Studio from the age of five and then moved on to study dance at Alexander W. Dreyfoos High School of the Arts. Over the past 17 years, Jordan has trained in ballet, among many other techniques including contemporary partnering, Limón, Horton, contact improvisation and tap. He has worked with many talented teachers and choreographers including Lawrence Rhodes, Risa Steinberg, Lar Lubovitch, Margo Sappington, Troy Powell, Andra Corvino, Francisco Martinez, Alphonse Poulin, and Larry Keigwin. Jordan is very excited to spend his second year in Minnesota dancing with James Sewell Ballet and teaching at Platinum Dance Center.

Preston is a recent graduate of the University of Minnesota who earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance. He began dancing as a child recreationally, and eventually became an avid member of the competitive dance circuit. At age 18 he moved to Minneapolis to gain a stronger grasp on his art form. Since then he has worked with companies such as Haus of John-Mark, Continental Ballet Company, and Cities Classical Dance Ensemble. This is his second season with Saint Paul Ballet. Preston serves as the Company Outreach Manager.

Allie has trained in all styles of dance and specializes in jazz and musical theatre. She was a member of the Minnesota State Mankato National Dance Team and now attends the University of Minnesota. Allie has been teaching dance for 8 years and enjoys choreographing for competitive dancers. She has won many choreography and judges choice awards. Allie will graduate this spring with a B.A. in Strategic Communication and Advertising.

Callie has been dancing in all styles for 18 years and is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Arts in Dance and Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. Tara began dancing at the young age of three and hasn’t stopped since! Tara continues to attend workshops and conventions throughout the country and has trained with some of the nations top instructors. For the last 18 years, her students and routines have won many top honors and awards at competitions. Tara believes in strong technique, discipline and lots of love for each of her students. Dance continues to be her passion and she comes to work each day hoping to inspire each student she works with, and strives to help them reach their fullest potential not only in dance, but life as well.

Michele is originally from North Carolina and has been dancing for 25 years in all dance styles. She danced in college for the UNC Dance Team and has been on staff with the NDA/USA collegiate programs. She has performed in TV/film, music videos, and industrials in New York, LA, and Atlanta and will be assisting with the Timberwolves Dancers this upcoming season. She has taught and choreographed all over the East Coast and Midwest and is excited to be teaching at Platinum this year!

Hannah began dancing with her high school dance team in Thompson, North Dakota. She served as Captain for 3 years, and Coach for 6 years, adding a junior high team to the program. She studied dance and choreography at the University of North Dakota and the North Dakota Ballet Company. She is excited to begin her first year with Platinum, and looks forward to helping her dancers grow and develop their passion for dance!

Rae began dancing at 5 years old and hasn’t stopped since! Growing up in St. Cloud she danced studio and then continued through college with the U of M Morris Pom Squad, Timberwolves Master Program, and is now on an All-Star hip-hop team Northern Elite Vibe who competes internationally. Rae has over 4 years of teaching experience and loves to see dancers grow as passionate about hip-hop as she is!
Bryson Hunter Boys Hip-Hop Instructor
Bryson(KB) continues to choreograph and perform in shows for major recording artists and local artists.His choreography has been seen on TV,Minnesota Vikings, Timberwolves, Saints and Lynx games, as well as the Minnesota Zoo and Hopkins Center for the Arts. Bryson teaches recreational hip-hop, competitive hip-hop and beginner ball room at several local dance studios.
